Welcome to Lexington History Museums Collections and Archives Online!
About Our Collections
From its founding in 1886, the Lexington History Museums (formerly Lexington Historical Society) has gathered key collections and artifacts to preserve for future generations. While much of the focus in Lexington is often given to the Revolutionary era, LHM's curatorial and archival holdings, more than 20,000 items, reflect Lexington’s rich history from the 1630s through present day. We are in the early stages of posting our collections online, so please check back frequently to see what new collections, records, and images have been added!
Help Record History!
Do you have more information to add to any of the items in our collection? Can you give us more context for a historic document based on personal research? Can you name any of the unidentified individuals or buildings in a photograph? Please let us know! Contact us at curatorialassist@lexingtonhistory.org to help us make sure our collections are as complete as possible!
